Dear Members,
Indian college of Cardiology is Progressing in all directions with the active involvement of all its members. Recently on January 2nd and 3rd at second indo – US meet at Delhi ICC along with other organizations was involved in updating Indian Guidelines for Coronary artery disease. Dr. yavagal represented ICC at that meeting. All members are requested to go through the Indian Guidelines published in Preventive Cardiology Supplement of Indian Heart Journal, by Dr. Enas Etal in 2008. Any suggestions for modifications may be sent to the President ICC which will be discussed in the next meeting and necessary alterations will be done.
I am also happy to inform you that with the effort of Dr. Gambhir immediate past president of ICC and many others, today there is an understanding between American College of Cardiology and Indian College of Cardiology. President of ICC is invited to attend the annual meeting of ACC to be held on 28th to 31st March 2009 at Orlando Florida. President of ICC will be honored with a chair on the dias at the convocations of the college. President of ICC will also be honoured with the fellowship of the ACC. This year Dr.S.T.Yavagal will respresent ICC. Similarly the President of ACC is invited to attend the annual meeting of Indian College of Cardiology to be held at Lucknow on October 30th, 31st and November 1st 2009.
All Members Who are involved in any of the activities at your place as member of the college are requested to send the reports of such activities to the head quarters. Their services will be recognized during next annual conference.
I request all members to send articles to the Editor, Journal of Indian college of Cardiology, so that more issues of the Journal can be brought out during the coming months.
All Members are also requested to send their views on what ICC should do in the coming days. These will be included in the agenda of the next ICC executive committee meeting and will be given a shape for implementation.
In our next annual meeting ICC wishes to honour our members who have contributed significantly to the activities of Indian College of Cardiology. Members are requested to send their names and their contributions to ICC.
Members are also requested to send the report on activities they have conducted as ICC member for the benefit of public. If their contribution is significant then ICC wishes to honour them in the next annual conference.
